Saturday 5th September

Day 8

716 Nautical Miles since leaving Flam, found us at Zeebrugge at 12 noon.
Being a little naive about the set up at Zeebrugge we hadn't booked on an on shore tour. Not realising that the only thing to do there is to get out of it, we decided to stay put on the ship. Taxis to Bruges which is not that far away were 65 euros, one way!

So, after we had lunch, we spent some time sitting in the sun on the top deck which was very nice. Did some walking round up there too for some exercise.
We left Zeebrugge for Southampton at 6 p.m, arriving there at 7 a.m.
After breakfast we waited in the lounge to be called for disembarkation and went out to find our transport. Finally arriving back home in the early afternoon.

On our journey we sailed 2,000 Nautical Miles.
The passengers consumed :-

Eggs - 9,550 pieces Cheese - 235.87 kg
Fish - 1,385.99 kg Potatoes - 1,943 kg
Pork - 736.68 kg Flour - 85 kg
Beef - 768.58 kg Fresh Fruit - 3.72 tonnes
Lamb - 326.35 kg Vegetables - 3.83 tonnes
Poultry - 685.91 kg Cream - 30.5 litres
Milk - 1,709 litres Whipping Cream 471 litres
Butter Portions - 6,018 Butter - 153 kg (cooking/baking)

A wonderful cruise which has stayed in my mind and I will definitely want to repeat in the summer months sometime. Some of the most amazing scenery I have ever seen in my life and lovely friendly people,
