The scheduled Ice Carving demonstration due to be held on the deck this morning, was cancelled due to the bad weather! I think the ice would have been unmanageble in the rain. They do this on the pool side, so I could picture it sliding into the water!

I went along to an introduction to Tagalog which is the language most used in the Philippines, along with English. There are over 180 native languages and dialects spoken there, but 22million people use Tagalog.
It was a good session with a lovely lady called Joyful. Sadly there were no more scheduled for the cruise.

After travelling 682 Nautical Miles, we arrived at Stavanger 12.30 p.m.It was raining, but after lunch we braved the elements and went to have a look round the town. We stopped at a little park right next to the Cathedral.

The next photos were taken in the park in front of the Cathedral and inside the Cathedral. The carvings were very intricate and colourful. The photos don't really do them justice, but you get an idea of the detail. This cathedral, called the Domkirk was built in 1125 and is the town's oldest surviving building.A walk around the cobbled streets to look at some of the traditional wooden houses finished off our short visit to Stavanger.
