Scarecrow Weekend 25th & 26th September 2010

We have been told this is the last scarecrow weekend for at least a couple of years because there weren't as many entries this time.
I haven't put all the photos in here as there are too many.....

This entrant had an 'oil' derrick that moved! They played the theme from Dallas all day too!

I think this one was meant to be The Wind in the Willows as there is a willow tree and Frog was in attendance too .....
This was outside St Peter's school and depicts St Peter the fisherman

This was a clever entrant. If you pushed the button on the box at the front, the oldest scarecrow rode his bike. Very good.....

This spitfire aeroplane was made by the man of the house by scaling up a model kit! He made it from plywood and cardboard and the propellers went round too.

Elvis moving in tune to his songs piped from the garage .

This one, called Holey Moley was the winner this year! A very funny entry indeed, especially as we seem to have more than our fair share of real moles around our village!

British summertime! Everyone muffled up against the weather....

Walking the dog.....

This little girl insisted on staying up the tree to have her photo taken too!

A new edition of the Daily Telegraph with a front page devoted to a topical subject to this village. Plans are in to open an 8000 head Super Dairy, very near this village and a couple of others. The implications of such a large dairy so close to habitation is a worry. Plans are to be re submitted in October, but everyone is hoping they will be turned down.

This entry was from the local garage. He makes everything up from spares. This one was a working model. The rear and front lights flashed, the windscreen wipers worked and the yellow fan behind the grill went round too !

This entry was very good. They played one of the episodes of Del Boy and Rodney too.
